Position Title

HSE Assistant Manager

Description

The role involves in depth understanding of the Health, Safety and Environmental considerations in an operational setting. It provides guidance to operations by prescribing the policies and procedures that need to be complied with to create a culture of HSE and Quality. The role is also responsible for ISO certifications and other quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

- Promote awareness regarding Quality and HSE among operational staff.
Know and understand local and government regulations as applicable to the Gases industry
- Know and understand relevant Standards and Codes of practice (BSI, NFPA etc.)
- Ability to design, implement and maintain HSE Management Systems
- Conducting and communicate Risk Assessments
- Relevant technical knowledge and practical first-hand experience of the application of operational controls (e.g. Manual Handling, Hazardous Substances, DSE, PPE).
- Design, undertake, review and manage HSE Tours and Inspections, emergency preparedness plans and evidence of HSE Performance Management systems, incident and accident investigations and HSE Audit programs.
- Identifying the need for and procuring certifications related to health, safety, quality and hygiene
- Ensuring that the company meets the prerequisite conditions and applying for certifications identified
- Carry out coaching, mentoring and team building of team members and colleagues.
- Set and Monitor employee KPIs
- Analyze learning & development needs of the team and create individual development plans

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health, Environment or Safety Science or Engineering Discipline Degree with overall experience of 5 years or more with 2 years in a supervisory/management role.
